Camino de Santiago shell pendant is crafted of solid sterling silver .925 (pendant) and 14 karat yellow gold (shell). The pendant measures 32mm (1.27"), including bail x 21mm (0.82"); the shell measures 10mm x 9mm. Weighs 4.30 grams. Featuring a solid back construction, this pendant is very comfortable to wear. The scallop shell was worn by pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela, Spain. The shell is both a symbol of baptism (as used by St. John the Baptist) and as a symbol of pilgrimage since thirsty pilgrims used the shell to draw water to drink as they made their way to the shrine.
