Athena is featured on the obverse of the coin wearing a crested Corinthian helmet. She was the goddess of wisdom, peace, warfare, strategy and reason. An armed warrior goddess, Athena appears in Greek mythology as a helper of many heroes, including Odysseus, Jason and Hercules.
Winged Nike is shown on the reverse side of the coin holding a laurel wreath. Nike was the goddess who personified triumph throughout the ages of ancient Greek culture.
The frame on this pendant is crafted of solid 14 karat yellow gold, while the replica Greek coin is made of silver with an antiqued finish applied to it. Weight of the pendant with coin is 4.90 grams. Dimensions of the pendant are 1.18" x 0.74" (30mm x 19mm), including the bail.
The bail swivels and will accommodate up to a 3mm thick chain (round type such as snake chain) or up to a 7mm flat type chain (such as herringbone or figaro link).
